A Review of the Development of Construction Grammar Studies: A Visualized Analysis Based on Cite Space

    Abstract
  • Using information visualizing technology, i.e.CiteSpaceV, we analyze seminal journal articles pertaining to construction grammar in the Web of Science(WOS) from 2008 to 2018.The results show that since 2008, construction grammar has been in the limelight and is developing rapidly; many high-yield authors have emerged.The “hot” research topics focus on construction and grammar, English and language, and usage and acquisition.The research frontier covers 12 clusters, including grammaticalization, argument structure, action recognition, cognitive grammar and construction.With data from CiteSpace,some suggestions for the future study of construction grammar are proposed.
