The Tentative Analysis of “YOU”-comparative Sentence from the Perspective of Cardiff Grammar

  • This paper discusses YOU-comparative sentences within the framework of the Cardiff Grammar.The research results indicate that YOU-comparative sentences express not only the process of comparison under the label of event-relating process, but also the meaning of participant role and circumstantial role at the semantic level.At the syntactic level, YOU under discussion is a preposition, but not a verb.
