Abstract

Abstract

Based on both the newly-discovered and the former historic data, American historian Joseph W. Esherick analyzes the tide, social context, the cause and the logic of the Boxer Uprising in China. Besides, he puts emphasis on the great impact of this campaign on the Chinese society and law.
