Application of Systemic Functional Linguistics in Teaching: American Scholars' Research Features in the Recent Years

  • In the past decade, America researchers have achieved greatly in the application study of Systemic Functional Linguistics(SFL) in the field of education and teaching, and with their own features. Based on SFL, they carried out the research from various aspects and the topics involved are basic issues in teaching. In the application process, they tend to simplify theory and modify it for easy use. Their research is very purposeful, usually for solving local problems in school, and following one study, a series of more studies are often carried out. As a consequence, their research is very systematic and thorough.
