School of Materials Science and Engineering of University of Science and Technology Beijing grows out of Metallographic Phase and Heat Treatment Department of Beijing Institute of Iron and Steel Technology (and Industry), which was one of the institutions engaging in metals scientific research and teaching, and made a distinguished contribution in personnel training and academic research in the field of metals and heat treatment.The author interviewed Zhang Shouhua, one of the main founders and leaders of this department, and retells the story of seting up and development in the early period of the department.

Abstract:
Traditional grammar, the Sydney Grammar and the Cardiff Grammar have described and explained discontinuity in "verbal group" from different perspectives.Based on the previous study in the framework of the Functional Linguistics, this paper reconfirms the notion of "verbal group" and makes distinction with the "verb phrase" in traditional grammar and "verbal group" in the Sydney Grammar.This paper concludes that the "verbal group" is composed of main verb and main verb extension and main verb Extension in this sense is filled by adverb, preposition or adverb + preposition;discontinuity of "verbal group" in the present study shares similarities with discontinuity of other groups and all of them can be realized in the tree diagram.Besides, this type of discontinuity is mainly attributed to three factors: postponement of semantic weight, distribution of information unit and register.

This paper discusses YOU-comparative sentences within the framework of the Cardiff Grammar.The research results indicate that YOU-comparative sentences express not only the process of comparison under the label of event-relating process, but also the meaning of participant role and circumstantial role at the semantic level.At the syntactic level, YOU under discussion is a preposition, but not a verb.

This paper aims to provide the theoretical departure for the integration and perfection of the semantic system of Transitivity by comparing the Transitivity theory advanced by Sydney Grammar and Cardiff Grammar to illuminate the development of the study of transitivity in the framework of Systemic Functional Grammar (SFG).The study shows that these two major theoretical models of Transitivity demonstrate some remarkable similarities and differences.Then the possible reasons for the differences are explored, arguing that the two models are complementary, particularly on syntactic studies.This article is concluded with some prospects for further study of Transitivity.

Abstract:
This article, by using Systemic Functional Linguistic theories, discusses the grammatical status of "preposition + clause" structure in Chinese.Taking the clause introduced by the preposition as the start point, the study examines grammatical relationship between the clause and the following clause and reanalyzes the function of the preposition.The result shows that preposition can also function as conjunctives which combined the two clauses into a clause complex when taking a typological perspective, while taking a topological view, the cline between outer circumstantial elements and dependent clauses is embodied in the continuum from "preposition + norminal group" to "preposition + clause".

As a typical ambiguous Chinese resultative construction,Zhui-lei construction has three interpretations,namely the subject-oriented,the object-oriented and the agent-inverted-with-patient ones,hence it is a hot topic in Chinese study.In the past 20 years,although the study of Zhui-lei construction in the generative circle has made great achievements,disputes still remain as on the ways of generation of the V-V compound Zhui-lei.Taking these disputes as a clue,this paper introduced and analyzed several views such as the lexical derivation view,the lexical-syntactic derivation view and the syntactic derivation view.Finally,it summarized the achievements in the relevant field and pointed out several issues that deserve further attention.

Ryunosuke Akutagawa created 34 Chinese poems in his life, whereas 8 of them were written in the fourth year of Taisho.He made a thorough study on all the poems in his collections of Chinese poems, and annotated and commented on some of them.Based on these annotations and comments on the poems, the authors make an analysis of the distinguishing characteristics and the origin of the 8 Chinese poems created in the fourth year of Taisho in the article.Meanwhile, the effects by the 8 Chinese poems on his earlier literary creation is discussed in the article.

With the increase of social conflicts, rights protection via the body which is an extreme form of social conflict often occurs.Rights protection via the body stems from hostility which is caused by defects in the existing system, and it can be excreted through the social safety valve.There are two types of social safety valve: the formal social safety valve and the non-formal social safety valve.The blocked formal social safety valve and inefficient use of informal social safety valve making the hostility impossible to be excreted but to accumulate, which lead to rights protection via the body with despair and emotional effects of citizens.Preventing rights protection via the body and maintaining the dynamic stability of society are important issues of social transition in China.

In this paper, making the seventy-five countries as simples, we first use computing methods of Passche weighted and simple average to present an index design method of change rate based on formation principle of index, and then work out stock price indexes of Asia-Pacific, America and Europe, respectively.We draw up a unified index of global stock market according to the three regions.Finally, we empirically make a analysis of the correlation.between world stock index and region stock index.We use Granger causality method to test the causal relationship between world stock index and GDP.The results indicate that world stock market is the "barometer" of world' national economy.

Government procurement has important policy functions.The development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) promoted by government procurement can reflect the government policy functions, and this strategy has been accepted to facilitate SMEs in many countries.However, the function is not been manifested ideally in our government procurement practice.The government procurement did not purchase goods or services from SMEs preferentially, the purchasing documents did not give the priority to SMEs, instead of setting conditions to limit the SMEs to participate the procurement.Therefore, it needs to legislate to ensure fair competition right to SMEs and take positive measures to improve the development of SMEs.

Both Shen Congwen and Xiaohong explored a new successful way for the writing of local-colored lyric novels in modern literature history though each had his own specialities.Being lyric novels, their works compose of the lyricism where the conflicts and plots are weakened and narrative rhythms are slowed down.However, we can see more virtues of human nature in Shen's works while more startling a world in Xiao's, which can been traced in the molding of personage's image.As to the feelings expressed in the novels, Shen's seem placid, easy and reserved while Xiao's are keen and a bit more demonstrative.Both Shen and Xiao showed emotional cares for the world in their works through the description of scenery.Although they've got great differences, their works were affected a lot by "regular" and "change" in the modern countryside.
