Abstract

Abstract

Turn is the basic unit of conversation. Turn sequence essentially propels the dynamic interaction in conversation. Based on the turn-taking model proposed by the American conversation analysts, the present study undertakes an analysis of the host discourse at the countdown moment of 2007 Spring Festival Gala Evening, and thus attempts to explore the host turn-taking rules and turn control strategies under the macro regulation of pre-allocated turn sequence.
