Hu Shi and China League for Civil Rights

  • Received Date: 2003-05-04
  • Hashi hoped to continue his cause of striving for human rights by joining China League for Civil Rights. But he didn't hold that the striving for human rights should be turned into actions against the government. It was the disagreement between Hushi and the leadquarter of China League for Civil Rights that led to the break-up of Peking Branch. Hashi's ideas influenced not only Peking Branch but also Cai Yuan-pei and Lin Yu-tang, the two backbone figares in the leadquarter, which made a certain impact on the League's final break-up.
