Abstract

Abstract

This paper attempts to apply Halliday's Systemic Functional Linguistics to the discourse analysis of Dickinson's representative work I Heard a Fly Buzz—When I Died to find out the discourse features of her poetry, and test the applicability of functional grammar to discourse analysis.
