Abstract

Kao Gong Ji reflects a strong complex of humanistic care of science and technology.This can be elicited from its viewpoints that harmony is the base of science and technology, that appliance is its aim, that living activities are its origins, that arts is its body, that life is its channel, that exactness is its root, that truth pursuit is its nature, and that intelligence esteem is its brain.The novelty of the book is that it, through systematic combination of nature, science, culture and life, emphasizes the returning of humanitics to science so as not to result in the conflict between human beings and nature and the deterioration of human living environment caused by the western modal of "subject-object dichotomization".To collect and study rich humanistic care of science and technology contained in the book provides not only important and profound guidance for invention, development and appliance of science and technology at present and the future, but also measurements for scientic and technological dissimilation materialized in some aspects.
