Abstract

Abstract

Different from traditional grammar,Green grammar criticizes non-ecological phenomena existing in certain language system, and attempts to construct expressions which are of harmonious relationship with ecology.This paper, based on COCA,conducted an analysis of the keyword OIL by examining its classifier collocates.The result shows(1)that the most frequent collocate of OIL is PRICE,indicating that price of oil plays an important role in human experience;(2) that PRICE OF OIL occurs with the most frequency in SPOK corpus of COCA,indicating that social context plays a determining role in discourse meanings.Unsteady political structure in the world leads money ideology takes the first place of human life instead of the ultimate relationship within the ecosystem.Only certain ultimate relationship is expressed unambiguously,could such nonecological behaviors be improved to promote ecological harmoniousness.
