Abstract

Abstract

Profound historical consciousness, developed historiographic theory, vivid and visual historiographic explaining form are excellent traditions of historiography of the ancient China. The thesis considers DAI Ming-shi to be a prominent historiographic thinker who hasn't been fully recognized by people till now. He had been devoting all his life to compiling the HISTORY of MING. DAI Ming-shi showed his profound historical and historiographical consciousness that ancient excellent historian had possessed. He inherited and developed the theory of historiographical critics that had come forth before his era, which showed his remarkable understanding of history and higher ability of writing history. Historical biography that DAI Ming-shi wrote inherited and developed the historiographical explaining form of SIMA Qian and OU Yang-xiu.
