Abstract

This paper，based on mass communication theory with emphasis on communication effect，discusses the influential factors of Kenneth Rexroth’s success in translating ancient Chinese poetry in America by analyzing his motive of translation，audience，subject and form，and then gives some proposals in translating ancient Chinese poetry.
