  • Firstly,the paper analyzes the basic standpoints of the pragmatic educational thought,and illustrates theoretical origin and basis of Hu Shi's theory.Secondly,it affirms positive influence that his educational theory has produced an profound historical significance in the circle of education of modern China.Thirdly,it shows limitations of his educational theory,pointing out that the road of saving the nation through developing education inevitably had no way out in modern China.
