On the Modes of Acceptance of Western Literary Theory——With the Reading and Theses of Graduates of Literature and Art as Examples

The graduates of literature and art accept the western literary theory in two ways:searching literature and reading. The former aims at professional knowledge,similar to the importation of advanced products;the latter lays stress on theoretical thinking ability,meaning to grasp the core technology.“Reading” contains three specific meanings and its connotation is different with the usual sense. First,read classic books rather than searching information with the consciousness in the theoretical thinking ability as the core;second,after reading books to be able to “ report number ”,making clear what the books say and why they say so,this is the basic embodiment of theoretical thinking ability;third, based on these knowledge,the students can make a judgment of their own theses. If the students read books so,their thesis writing must be smooth,and the quality of the theses must be remarkable;otherwise it will be opposite.
