Abstract

Abstract

English reading is very important to English learning, and functional discourse analysis is identified as a new approach to guiding English reading.Analyzing the text from China Daily, the paper attempts to test out the feasibility of application of the theory of transitivity to the study of news discourse, what's more, to practice the application of functional grammar to English reading and show a new way of improving the ability of English reading in China.
