Abstract

Abstract

How are the components of “Wenxin Diaolong”'s literature theory organized into the entire theory and how are they connected together, just as “30 spokes in the same hub”? These are very importent questions which need thorough analysis and research. The paper holds that Liu Xie's Dingshi theory has a rich theoretical connotation. It is a reflection of Liu Xie's writing design. In this theory, Liu Xie discussed how a writer perfects ethic personality, how to comprehend one's own character, how to comprehend the characteristics of the literary form, how to grasp certain creating skills and how to cultivte a reasonable literature feeling and good emotion before writing. The dingshi theory is the core and plays the key role in Liu Xie's literature theory.
