Study on the Strategy of Context Reconstruction in the Translation of Chinese Classics into English

Context plays an important role in speech delivery and comprehension.Due to the contextual factors that exist between different cultures in terms of history, culture, social customs and communicative situations, translators always need to seek a balance between context deficiency and context reconstruction in the process of translating Chinese classics into English.By taking Ku Hong-ming's Translation of The Discourses and Sayings of Confucius as an example,the study elaborates on the strategy of context reconstruction from the aspects of culture,situation and co-text.It serves as reference for the efficient dissemination of traditional Chinese culture to the rest of the world.
