Abstract

Abstract

The key problem of biographia literaria is whether its motif is historical or literary.With a comparative study of the “Discussion between History and Literature” in 50 years ago and the author's own view, the paper considers that the people——oriented view is not just the principle of biographia literaria creation but also the base of its criticism.Thereby the strategy of the opposite between “politics and aesthetics” is adopted in the evaluation of biographia literaria.And the idea of the people orientation plays the leading role in the whole system of biographia literaria.
