The Logical Mechanism and Practical Pathways of Empowering New-Quality Metallurgical Talent Cultivation via the “Iron and Steel Spirit”

  • In the era marked by the integrated advancement of education, science and technology, and talent development, along with the accelerated growth of new-quality productive forces, the metallurgical sector is changing profoundly, focusing on low-carbon transition, intelligent upgrading and key technological breakthroughs. This trend imposes more comprehensive requirements on metallurgical talent training. Forged in the development of the metallurgical industry under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the “Iron and Steel Spirit” is valuable spiritual asset. It includes the values of patriotism, dedication, self-reliance, innovation and hard work. It serves as a valuable ideological and political educational resource, which can fulfill the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education and cwltivate new-quality metallurgical talents. Following the logic of historical inheritance, response to the times and value shaping, the “Iron and Steel Spirit” provides value guidance, practical orientation, and dynamic momentum for cultivating new-quality metallurgical talents. In terms of implementation, amid current realistic challenges in education, efforts should be made to forge the spiritual foundation of new-quality metallurgical talents with the “Iron and Steel Backbone”, enhance their core competencies with the “Iron and Steel Skills”, and optimize their cultivation ecosystem with the “Iron and Steel Human Ladder”. Meanwhile, universities should make the empowerment of “Iron and Steel Spirit” more accessible and influential, demonstrate distinctive strengths and cultivate new-quality metallurgical talents who can drive the high-quality development of the metallurgical industry and support the country’s pursuit of high-level self-reliance in science and technology.
