A Comparative Study of World University Rankings and Its Enlightenment to the Construction of “Double First-Class”

  • At present, the four university rankings including THE, QS, USNEWS, and ARWU are the world university rankings with high recognition. They can reflect the quality of a university, and the setting of observation points has reference significance for the development of universities. This paper aims to condense the specific path to promote the high-quality development of higher education in the context of “breaking the five” through comparing the observation points of the four university rankings and summarizing the specific practices of Beijing University of Science and Technology. This paper provides a useful reference for accelerating the construction of “double first-class” universities and promoting the reform and development of higher education.
