Abstract

Abstract

General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important thought on a community with shared future for ocean has a deep theoretical origin and rooted in real needs, the main contents of it mainly include mutual respect, equality and mutual trust, deepening practical cooperation in the marine field; focusing on the development of marine economy and let it make benefits for mankind; establishing marine safety community, working together to maintain the peace and tranquility of the ocean; promoting the construction of marine ecological civilization and realizing the sustainable development of the ocean. The important thought is of great significance. It is necessary to strengthen the interpretation and promotion of the concept of a community with shared future for ocean to build a consensus on global ocean governance; lead the innovation of global ocean governance rules, enhance China’s discourse in global ocean governance; properly resolve maritime disputes and ocean differentiation, expand the breadth and depth of maritime cooperation; explore the construction of a community with shared future for regional ocean, expand the intersection of interests, and form a demonstration effect, thereby promoting the implementation of the important thought.
