Construction of Multimodal Corpus and Its Pedagogic Application: A Case Analysis of Text-image Typology in “China-US Focus” Website

  • In multimodal analysis of websites, the picture data can be further exploited as forming a picture bank which may play a new role in teaching and researching. The paper sets out to analyse the illustration types based on functional linguistic analysis of metafunctions, and then tries to construct a multi-course, multi-setting and multi-purpose pedagogic picture bank. The paper elaborates on the collection, classification and presentation of data and explores the approaches to effective multimodal-stimulated classroom teaching.
