Yuan Zhongdao in Ming Dynasty once said, “Changru is not a playboy. He appears to be idle all days, but has a passionate flame in his heart.” Yuan Hongdao said, “If Changru is dead, there will be no poet in Southeast China.” Changru’s wife said, “My husband was a genious. He left a masterpiece behind him that can stand for ages, and deserved a reputation same as Zhu Zhishan and Wen Zhengming.” Li Zhi also thought highly of him, and referred him as one of the most outstanding authors. Changru was diligent in writing, but he didn’t put his name on his works. He was named Twenty Man and Smiling Man. He is Qiu Changru, a fighter against fake Taoism.
