This article analyzes the conception and connotation of Western Marxism as well as its relations with Leninism, holds that Western Marxism is not a unified school of ideological trend, and, based on a concrete analysis of G. Lukacs and E. Fromm, proposes three criteria for judging the nature of Western Marxism.
