Abstract

Abstract

This paper takes a functional approach to the study of different English versions of Meng Haoran’s poem “Chun Xiao”.It attempts to analyze the texts from the perspective of textual metafunction, especially cohesion.Its objectives are twofold: to explain some aspects of Chinese-English translation in relation to “equivalence”, “resemblance” and “beautifulization” and to find out the differences between the original poem and the translated versions and those between the trans-lated versions.
