Some Problems during the Discovery of Panzhihua Iron Mine——A Discussion with Mr. Liu Qinghua

Several problems in the Discovery of Panzhihua Iron Mine are discussed with Mr.Liu Qinghua in the paper.Mr. Liu Qinghua's statement of 1936 is not supported with Mr.Chang Longqing'smanuscripts and Minerals in Seven Counties of Ning.Mr.Chang Longqing did not come to Panzhihua in 1936，did not found Panzhihua Iron Mine，even the Panzhihua vanadium，titanium，and magnetite ores.In the survey of Discovery of Panzhihua Vanadium，Titanium and Magnetite in August of 1940，Zhixiang is the leader and representative，but Chang Longqing was just a fellow traveller temporarily joined in the survey and a co－discoverer not assigned specific tasks to.With a full literature，this paper shows thatMr.Liu Qinghua's statement：Mr.Chang Longqing was the leader and representative in the survey，is not a fact.The Discovery of Panzhihua Vanadium，Titanium and Magnetite is a feat in the history of China's geology and mineral resources exploration.Does the history submit to the reality，or the reality regress to the history？What is the essence of science？These again become the problems we should think about seriously.
