Opening Up the Space of Female Narrative—Interpretation of Margaret Atwood's The Blind Assassin

  • Based on feminist narrative theory, this article analyzes the construction of female narrative space in Margaret Atwood's novel The Blind Assassin.The article combines the perspectives of traditional structuralist narratology and feminism.It explores how The Blind Assassin shows the situation of women in aphasia from the perspective of multiple female narrative voices, narrative rhythm and hierarchy, and metaphoric narrative system.The metaphorical symbol in the system opens a new narrative space and builds the authority of female writing.
