Systemic Functional Approach to Chinese Clauses: Review on the 25th Symposium on Functional Linguistics and Discourse Analysis&the 2nd Symposium on Functional Linguistics and Chinese Language

  • The 25th Symposium on Functional Linguistics and Discourse Analysis& the 2nd Symposium on Functional Linguistics and Chinese Language was held in Central China Normal University, Wuhan, China, from June 6 to June 7, 2018.Altogether 13 scholars were invited to this symposium from the academic circles in Systemic Functional Linguistics and Chinese language in China.From the perspective of Functional Linguistics,related keynote speeches center around aspects of clauses such as definition, structure, elements, categorization, function, boundary, grammatical status and mood.Overall, a communication platform is established for the peers in the two circles to deepen their research and increase consensus,which plays an active role in promoting the localization of Functional Linguistics in China.
