Analysis of the Path for College Teachers Development and Promotion the Practice of Educator Spirit in the New Era

  • Educator spirit represents the spiritual benchmark of outstanding teachers and embodies the condensation and elevation of educational beliefs. General Secretary Xi Jinping has summarized and proposed the unique Chinese concept of educator spirit, providing vital guidance for the development of faculty teams in universities. Taking the materials discipline at the University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB) as a case study, this paper summarizes the qualities of educators with disciplinary characteristics, based on the integration of the overall promotion path of national educator spirit and contemporary teacher development theories, explores innovative approaches for advancing educator spirit within the context of contemporary college teachers development. Furthermore, this study proposes the construction of a shared educator spirit database for higher education institutions, and identifies six adaptable integration pathways: ideological guidance, Party-building enhancement, moral foundation strengthening, practice-based action, exemplary role modeling, and high-quality development. These pathways form a chain-like development model encompassing value core→ organizational system→ individual cultivation→ teaching practice→ cultural environment→ strategic planning. The proposed framework is expected to be generalized across multiple disciplines and institutions, promoting the integration of educator spirit into curricula, classrooms, and minds. Ultimately, it aims to support the development of high-quality university faculty and contribute to the high-quality advancement of education in the new era.
