Analysis on Promoting the Development of First-class Undergraduate Majors with Tutorial System in the Context of New Engineering

  • The report of the 20th Party Congress proposed to comprehensively improve the quality of independent cultivation of talents and accelerate the construction of a high-quality education construction system. It opens a new stage in the history of Chinese education development. Taking the development of new engineering disciplines as an opportunity, USTB prompts a new phase of reform in cultivating engineering talents. The comprehensive tutorial system for undergraduates insists on moral education, which is an effective initiative to deepen education and teaching reform centered on students, and an important exploration and practice for high-level teachers to cultivate first-class undergraduates. This paper expounds the connotation of the comprehensive tutorial system for undergraduates, compares the relationship between the cultivation achievements and the construction of first-class undergraduate majors in the context of 3E(Emerging Engineering Education), and evaluates its actual implementation based on the user satisfaction theory. The results reveal that there are continuous improvements in both strengthening the construction of faculty, the cultivation of talents in new engineering and the research on university teacher-student relationship, and perfecting the supporting system.
