The Challenges and Countermeasures Faced by the Patriotic Education Discourse of Universities in the New Era

  • The discourse of patriotism education in colleges and universities is a description, propaganda and evaluation of patriotism between the subject and the object based on following the corresponding rules and norms in a certain discourse context, which is a symbol system to construct the patriotism value orientation, ideology and behavior representation of college students. Entering the new era, the discourse of patriotic education in universities faces realistic challenges in terms of identity, system, dominance, and harmony. For this reason, universities must focus on the goal of achieving the roots of college students’ patriotism, analyze the causes of discourse supply and demand contradiction, multiple output, power displacement, and integration game, then explore solutions in terms of discourse concept, discourse content, discourse expression, discourse dissemination, and discourse atmosphere.
