In English vocabulary teaching, we should classify vocabulary transfers first to learn its nature well. We suggest teaching second language vocabulary in use, which will enable students to learn English naturally.

ZHAO Liang
2017, 33(4): 32-37.
Abstract(336) PDF(8)
Abstract:
Verb acquisition, especially the acquisition mechanism of English verb past tense, has always been one of the controversial key issues in language acquisition. Yang's Rules and Competition Model (the RC model) and Pinker's Words and Rules Model (the WR model) are two different influential theoretical models. This article has analyzed fundamental principles and language mechanisms of these two models, compared their similarities and differences, and tested their explanatory power on the basis of real language acquisition data selected from CHILDES (Child Language Data Exchange System). The findings of the study reveal that the RC model better explains the role of input frequency, the similarity of a verb and its past tense form, and overregularization errors while the WR model can better interpret the origin of irregular verb past tense.

In recently Naxalites years, Indian government increases military financial investment, intensifies national security forces and takes advantage of private army. In the practice against Maoists, local government's military organizations and strategies include Greyhounds, Salwa Judum, Special Police Officers, and Fake encounter. Military containment strategies didn't change Indian society's structure fundamentally, so it can't eradicate Naxalites violence. Naxalites movement had profound social and political roots, in essence, it is a revolutionary movement based on ideology.
