Analysis of C-E Translation of Culture-loaded Words from the Cognitive Metaphorical Perspective — Taking Shanxi Historical Museum Calendar 2021 as an Example

摘要: 文章以《陕博日历·2021·大唐花舞》中的文化负载词隐喻翻译为例,基于认知隐喻理论,构建概念映射过程中的认知心理模型,探析总结隐喻意象的翻译方法,以期为中国文化对外翻译与传播提供借鉴。文化负载词隐喻翻译需要经过解码—编码—实现身份归属三个步骤。针对文化负载词英译的编码过程,译者需根据自身解读选择恰当的隐喻翻译方法,对原文的文化内涵进行再隐喻化或去隐喻化或非隐喻化的改编,以译文实现与目的语读者的视域融合为最终目标,促使中国文化负载词所承载的隐喻意象为目的语受众成功接收,助力中国文化对外传播。Abstract: Taking culture-loaded words in Shaanxi Historical Museum Calendar 2021 as an example, based on cognitive metaphor theory, this paper constructs a cognitive psychological model in the process of concept mapping, and analyzes and summarizes the translation methods of metaphorical imagery, in order to provide reference for the external translation and dissemination of Chinese culture. Translation of metaphors in culture-loaded words requires three steps: decoding, encoding, and attributing identity. In view of the encoding process of C-E translation of culture-loaded words, translators need to choose appropriate metaphorical translation methods according to their own interpretation, re-metaphorically or de-metaphorically or non-metaphorically adapt the cultural connotation of the original text, and take the integration of the translation with the vision of the target language reader as the ultimate goal, so as to promote the successful reception of the metaphorical images carried by the Chinese culture-loaded words by the target language audience, and help the Chinese culture successfully spread to the outside world.
