Abstract: The duration of copyright protection makes copyright different from tangible properties. The justification of copyright can be understood through economics, the public interest in copyright law, the social policy in copyright law and balancing of interests and the like. The factors to determine the duration for the protection of copyright can be discussed from both macrocopic and microscopic aspects. There exists consistency and particularity in the area of the duration of copyright protection.
