Abstract: The Tea House is one of the dramatic patterns with daily conversation and great narration perfectly blended. From the viewpoint of the daily conversations among “the old Beijing”, Laoshe developed the daily conversations towards great narration by elaborating them artistically. The Tea House reveals Laoshe's hard pursuing artistic perfection in the context of prevailing political utility and it also suggests Laoshe's artistic ability in the 1950's and 1960's when the literature was featured with political sense. The Tea House provides a perfectly good text for us to appreciate the aesthetic judgment and the narrative style of the literature during the 17 years after the founding of our country.
