Abstract:
Through studying Chinese rural Romanists' belief and behaviors in these two different situations in their daily lives and in the the Yihetuan Movement, the article analyzed the characteristics of the Chinese rural Romanists' faith in modern China from three aspects: (1) How did this faith come into being? (2) Why did native Chinese choose or convert to Catholic Church? (3) How did this faith influence their lives?It revealed the process of contcict, exchange and blend happening between Chinese and Western religious culture in lower social status of China.
