Britain's Decolonization in China at the Beginning of the North Expedition

摘要: 英国在1925年“五卅运动”中殖民权权益遭受重创,又加上中国的民族解放运动日益高涨,面对此种形式,英国国内又展开了一轮激烈争论,最终出台“圣诞节备忘录”,做出向中国“妥协”的姿态,迈出英国非殖民化进程中的一步。英国的举动是为确保继续殖民中国而采取的无奈的主动行为,被其他列强孤立、遭中国革命所打击、迷惑中国民族解放力量等均是英国的考虑。英国“非殖民化”本质上是英国殖民他国悖论的结果。Abstract: During the May 30th movement in 1925, Britian was attacked by China.After that, Chinese Anti-Imperialism Movement became served.Under this circumstance, the politicians and businessmen in Britain launched a fierce debate.At the end of 1926, Britain announced "Christmas Memorandum" and showed a compromise attitude.It took a decolonization process step.Britain's behavior was to ensure continued colonial interests in China.Britain's denolonization is essentially a paradox result of its colonizing other states.
