摘要: 在19世纪中期,中国第一代资产阶级思想家王韬通过和新教传教士理雅各合作翻译中国古代经典,承担起向西方介绍中国文化的重任。在游历欧洲两年多的时间中,他通过演讲等方式,宣扬中国文化,为促进近代欧洲对中国的了解做出了突出贡献。Abstract: In the middle of the 19th century, WANG Tao, one of the firstgeneration thinkers, cooperated with James Legge, translated a lot of Chinese classics into English. Thus he shouldered the task to introduce the Chinese culture to the West. In the two years he traveled in Europe, he introduced the Chinese culture to the westerners by giving lectures, which made great contribution to the understanding of the modern Europe of China.
