Syntax of Pictures: A Survey of the Semantic Construal of Material Process

摘要: 文章以系统功能语言学的认知观为理论依据、以图片(物质过程)的认知为例,在20名受试中进行了看图写句的问卷调查研究。结果表明:不同受试的认知/句法受语境的制约,是不尽相同的,但总的来说,又具有倾向性的、可预知的范式。Abstract: This paper makes a survey of descriptions by 20 Chinese subjects of a material process represented by a sketchy picture, adopting the cognitive approach of Systemic Functional Linguistics. The result shows that subjects' cognition/syntax is constrained by context, which is realized in different ways, but that there tends to be a predictable shared syntax for the definite theme of cognition.
