Abstract: Identity is an important indicator to examine the social integration and citizenization of the floating population, it's also the key to realize the “urbanization of people”. This article systematically sorts out and summarizes the domestic research literatures on the identity of the floating population from four dimensions: the definition and measurement of the identity of the floating population, the status quo of the identity of the floating population and the influencing factors of the identity of the floating population and the influence of the identity on the floating population. In the future, researchers should pay more attention to the edge identity and dual identity, strengthen the analysis of the urban registered floating population and the household registration migration population, pay more attention to the impact of subjective variables on the identity of migrants, and strengthen the research on the consequences of identity. In addition, researches should also strengthen theoretical induction and improve the overall theoretical level.
