Legal Reflections on “Designed Babies”

摘要: “设计婴儿”是指通过植入前基因诊断技术对胚胎进行筛选,挑选出合适的胚胎植入母体孕育出生的婴儿。“设计婴儿”技术的出现,给人类带来了福音,但同时也带来了潜在的巨大威胁。“设计婴儿”引发了巨大的伦理争议,也对于法律提出了挑战。“设计婴儿”应采取怎样的态度值得探讨,比较合理的做法应当是有条件的许可。Abstract: Designing a baby means that through selecting a proper embryo by PGD (pre-implantation genetic diagnosis) technology, and implanting it into a women's womb, a baby is born at last.It brings blessing and potential threaten at the same time.This problem arouses disputes in moral and ethical levels, and challenges legislation too.It is meaningful to discuss what legislative standpoint should be held toward designing babies.Permitting under certain conditions might be a reasonable solution.
