Abstract: Originally, perspective, referring to the angle of observation, belongs to the perceptual domain. The viewing schemas derived from embodiment map onto the conceptual domain, and form abstract models of cognitive construction of the world. The perspective structure directly affects conceptual content which in turn affects its corresponding linguistic expressions. This interaction between the perspective structure and its language form is prominently manifested in narrative discourse. In combination with entrenched experiential schemas, this paper is a tentative analysis of the cognitive construction of prototypical perspective frames in narrative discourse and the effects on linguistic expressions as well.
