The Reflection of Interpersonal Relationship by the Lexicogrammatical Structure of Dialogue

摘要: 文章报告一项关于小说改编成电影过程中所作改动的研究,从而探讨在语义学和语用学层面外,对话的词汇语法格局如何反映对话者之间的人际关系,尤其是对话者间的情感基调。本文论及的研究分析丹布朗的小说《达.芬奇密码》中的一段与其在同名改编电影中相对的一幕。该段小说章节与其电影改编在人物间的对话内容上十分相似,但人物之间的情感基调却有所不同。研究集中分析对话者之间不同类型的回应。回应类型可分为预期回应、中性回应和自主回应,从而体现正面、中性与负面情感基调。本文也展示如何将不同回应类型的分布图像化,建立对话者的回应简介,帮助体现其对被回应者的情感基调①。Abstract: This article reports a study on how, apart from semantics and pragmatics, lexicogrammatical patterns of conversation can reflect interlocutors' interpersonal relationship, especially their emotional charge towards each other, through analyzing the changes made in the process of adapting Dan Brown's novel The Da Vinci Code into a motion picture.The novel extract and the corresponding part of the motion picture adaptation of one scene in the novel were analyzed in the study.The original novel and the motion picture adaptation are very similar in terms of the content of the conversation among the characters, while they differ in the characters' emotional charge towards each other.This study focuses on analyzing the different types of response interlocutors give to each other.Response can be categorized as expected, neutral or discretionary, and correspondingly realize positive, neutral or negative emotional charge.This article also demonstrates how the distribution of different response types can be visualized to construct interlocutors' response profiles to facilitate the realization of their emotional charge.
