Overview of the Transitivity System within the Cardiff Grammar

摘要: 系统功能语法学派内部的悉尼模式和加的夫模式都对表达经验意义的及物性系统进行了比较全面的描述。本文通过比较两种模式对及物性系统的建构,着重探讨加的夫语法及物性系统的特点。研究发现:加的夫语法对参与者角色和过程的界定突出体现了“以语义为中心”的系统功能原则。Abstract: Within systemic functional grammar, both the Sydney and Cardiff Models present a description of the transitivity system. Through the comparison between the two descriptions, this paper attempts to reveal the characteristics of the Cardiff Grammar. The study indicates that the Cardiff Grammar observes the systemic functional principle—meaning as primary—more fully in the clas-sification of participant roles and processes in the transitivity system.
