Abstract: The question of how to explain the Holocaust is controversial. The absolutism claims universal truth and standard. The relativism emphasizes the context of different standards,there is no universal standard and moral rules. The characteristic of pluralism is opposing both single-track explanation of the absolutism and extreme relativism. On the question of how to explain the Holocaust,the American historical philosopher Hayden White's change indicates that the relativism has limits. The pluralism and relativism is progressive,but there are also some problems.
