Abstract: Institute of History of Metallurgy and Materials University of Science and Technology Beijing, which is one of the earliest institutes making specialized study on history of science and technology, has gained a series of outstanding achievements in the field of Chinese antiquity history of metallurgy.The paper traces the early creation and development of the institute by interviewing Professor Sun Shu-yun who is one of the early founders of the research institute.
