Abstract: During the transformation period, the market economy has been hampered seriously by the lack of social credit among which government credit is the crucial factor. Based on the definition of government credit, this paper puts forward the political and ethical function of government credit development in transformation period:government credit development is the important premise in the market economic development;government credit development is the important guarantee in maintaining social political order;government credit development is the important part of political civilization.
