Abstract: It is observed that the existing analysis of projection mainly focuses on the linguistic text rather than on the image-text, which is lack of dedicated and systemic exploration from the logical-semantic aspect in visual grammar. Therefore, the paper, mainly based on Systemic Functional Grammar and Multimodal Discourse Analysis, aims to investigate the distinctness and similarity of projection in linguistic discourse and image-text multimodal discourse, and then presents an alternative way into the analysis of projection and shows the expanding of its meaning potential in multimodal discourse from the logical-semantic aspect.
