Abstract: With the increase of social conflicts, rights protection via the body which is an extreme form of social conflict often occurs.Rights protection via the body stems from hostility which is caused by defects in the existing system, and it can be excreted through the social safety valve.There are two types of social safety valve: the formal social safety valve and the non-formal social safety valve.The blocked formal social safety valve and inefficient use of informal social safety valve making the hostility impossible to be excreted but to accumulate, which lead to rights protection via the body with despair and emotional effects of citizens.Preventing rights protection via the body and maintaining the dynamic stability of society are important issues of social transition in China.
