Analysis of Hu Shi's Idea of Saving the Nation Through Developing Education

摘要: 文章首先分析了实用主义教育哲学的基本主张,阐述了胡适“教育救国论”的理论来源和基础。其次,肯定了“教育救国论”及实用主义教育思想对中国教育界产生的积极影响和历史作用。第三,指出“教育国论”及实用主义杜威思想的局限性和缺陷,说明它在当时中国社会走向破产的历史必然性。Abstract: Firstly,the paper analyzes the basic standpoints of the pragmatic educational thought,and illustrates theoretical origin and basis of Hu Shi's theory.Secondly,it affirms positive influence that his educational theory has produced an profound historical significance in the circle of education of modern China.Thirdly,it shows limitations of his educational theory,pointing out that the road of saving the nation through developing education inevitably had no way out in modern China.
